  • MASCAC Names Fall/Winter 2024 MASCAC All-Academic Team

    Westfield, MA — A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

    WESTFIELD, Mass. – 60 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Fall Sportsmanship Team.
  • Mahoney Leads Lancers at DIII New England Championships

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross Country team took to the course in New Hampshire today to compete in the DIII East Regional hosted by Suffolk University. The Lancers were led by sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) who finished in 144th place with a time of 29:32.99. Worcester recorded 792 points for 29th at the Championships.
  • Mahoney Leads Lancers to Fifth Place Finish at MASCAC Championship

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross Country team, after a season of training and dedication, competed in the MASCAC Championship today. Led by sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) the Lancers recorded 128 points on the day to finish 5th at the meet.
  • Mahoney and Talbot Race to the Line at Western New England Invite

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Cross Country team returned to the course this morning to compete in their final race before the MASCAC Championship in two weeks, with a trip to the Western New England Invitational. The Lancer squad recorded 214 points for 8th place behind the pace setting of a race off between sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) and senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA).
  • Mahoney Leads Lancers Return to Action at James Earley Invitational

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross Country team returned to action today as they traveled to Westfield to compete in the James Earley Invitational. With a combined team score of 360, the Lancers finished in 13th in the meet, with sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) leading the squad.
  • Lancers Finish Strong at UMass-Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross-Country team was back in action this Saturday afternoon as they headed to UMass-Dartmouth to compete in the UMass-Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational Meet. In a field of over 342 and 44 teams, ranging from DI-DIII, the Lancers were primed to race.
  • Mahoney Leads the Pack for Lancers at Keene State Invitational

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross Country team begins their 2024 season today as they take to the course at Keene State for the Keene State Invitational. The Lancers are looking to start strong this season as they begin their bid for a MASCAC title. The Lancers would close out the meet against a slew of top competitors with 185 points running at an average of 18:37.39 for the 5k meet. 
  • Worcester State Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth in MASCAC Preseason Poll

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross-Country team has been picked to finish fifth in the 2024 MASCAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll as selected by the conference coaches. The Lancers, who are under their second year with full time head coach Scott Vandermolen aim to return to the top of the podium this season behind senior Matt Talbot and sophomore Jackson Bolduc and a strong incoming and returning class from last season.
  • Worcester State Cross Country Announces 2024 Schedule

    Worcester, MA- In his second season leading the Worcester State University Cross Country teams, Head Coach Scott Vandermolen is pleased to announce the 2024 competition schedule. After a transition year last season that saw Vandermolen step into the lead role as full time coach for cross country and track and field, the Men’s and Women’s teams are aiming to climb back to the top of the MASCAC and come away with a championship and a plethora of top finishes in their bid for an appearance at NCAAs. The Women’s team will be led by top recording juniors Leah Berg and Claudia Symonick while the men will have the return talents of senior Matt Talbot and Matt Talbot and sophomore Jacksen Bolduc.
