Mahoney and Talbot Race to the Line at Western New England Invite

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Cross Country team returned to the course this morning to compete in their final race before the MASCAC Championship in two weeks, with a trip to the Western New England Invitational. The Lancer squad recorded 214 points for 8th place behind the pace setting of a race off between sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) and senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA).

Sophomore Jacksen Bolduc (Auburn, MA) would claim the third spot for Worcester with a finish of 29:53, which found him sitting in 49th on the day. First year Daniel Smith (Medway, MA) would go for a repeat performance of the Lancers earlier finishes by charging Bolduc down to the line, crossing in 50th, just a second behind. Grabbing the final point spot for Worcester was junior Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) who claimed 66th in a time of 30:46.

Worcester State will now turn their focus to the MASCAC Championship that will be held on November 2nd before they journey to the DIII Regional Championship in a bid to claim spots in the NCAA tournament.
