Clark, Hanlon Earn Medals as WXC Takes Third at MASCACs

DEVENS, Mass. – The Worcester State women's cross-country team placed two student-athletes on the podium and finished third overall at the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) championships, held today at Devens Recreation Center.

Junior Kasey Clark (Dudley, Mass.) took third overall in a field of 62 student-athletes, while Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, Mass.) also earned a medal with a tenth-place finish.

Clark completed the 5K course in 20:26 and Hanlon clocked in at 21:15. Just six seconds behind her was teammate Caitlin Conneely (Tewksbury, Mass.), who finished twelfth.

Helping the Lancers score points towards their team finish were junior Cassidy Lefferts (Palmer, Mass.) in 31st place and freshman MacKenzie Marshall (Ayer, Mass.), who took 36th place.

The Lancers as a team finished behind only Bridgewater State and Westfield State, who won the event and also boast overall individual champion Amy O'Sullivan.

Moving on from conference to regional competition, the Lancers will next run at the NCAA Division III New England championships, set for November 13th at Franklin Park in Boston.
