  • MASCAC Names Fall/Winter 2024 MASCAC All-Academic Team

    Westfield, MA — A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

  • Three Lancers Named to Field Hockey MASCAC All-Conference Teams

    Worcester, MA- Worcester State Field Hockey had three named to the MASCAC All-Conference team as senior Natayla Morin (Barre, Ma) and junior Allison Keenan (Marlborough, MA) were named to the First Team while senior Madison Ferrara (Somerset, MA) was selected for second team honors.
  • Lancers Fall to Owls After Last Minutes Fourth Quarter Goal to Owls in MASCAC Semifinal

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (8-10, 6-4) returns to the MASCAC Championship tonight with Westfield State (11-8, 7-3) hosting the #2 versus #3 seed MASCAC Semifinal matchup. Westfield fell in the MASCAC semifinals last year in OT, the Lancers are hoping to deal them the same fate this year in their bid to return to the championship.
  • Worcester State Advances Past Vikings to Semifinals on Third Quarter Surge

    Worcester, MA- With the conclusion of the regular season , the MASCAC Playoffs began on Tuesday night. The third seed Worcester State Lancers (7-10, 6-4) welcomes four the fourth time in two years the Salem State Vikings (2-14, 0-10) to Coughlin Field. Earlier in the season Worcester would claim two wins off the Vikings, the first a 6-0 victory in mid-October before wrapping up the season in Salem just three days ago with a 4-1 win in Worcester’s favor. This is the second season in a row the Vikings have met the Lancers in the playoffs after Salem upset Fitchburg State 4-3 last season in the MASCAC Quarterfinals to meet Worcester in the Semifinals.

    Worcester, MA- After a 1-1 week for the Worcester State Field Hockey team, first year Rihanna Morin (Burrilville, RI) was tabbed as this weeks MASCAC Rookie of the Week.
  • Lancers Field Hockey Wrap Up Regular Season with a Win over Vikings

    Worcester, MA- In a rematch from earlier this season that saw Worcester State come away with a big 6-0 victory, the Lancer Field Hockey team (6-10, 5-4) looks to get a leg up in the postseason with a win today that will help the team solidify their third seed placement in the postseason. With a win today, the Lancers could very well see Salem State for the 6th time in two years as they faced the Vikings in the MASCAC semifinals last year as well.
  • Lancers Fall as Fourth Quarter Comeback Falls Shy to Rams

    Worcester, MA- In the final home game of the Worcester State Field Hockey (6-9, 5-3) regular season, the Lancers will host a repeat of the MASCAC Championship on Coughlin field as they battle for a top spot in the MASCAC POst season tournament. After coming away earlier this season with a 2-0 victory on the road, Worcester is set to repeat and grab a crucial win on the season.
  • Lancers Conquer Falcons in Shootouts to Claim Senior Day Victory

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (5-9, 4-3) takes on top seeded Fitchburg State today in a bid to gain more ground in the conference seeding, where they currently sit in third. Today’s game is also played in honor of the senior class that includes team leading forward #3 Natalya Morin (Barre, MA), dominant midfielder #10 Madison Avilla (Westport, MA) and star keeper #90 Madison Ferrara (Somerset, MA).
  • Lancers Take Loss on the Road from Bears

    Worcester, MA- After a thrilling 1-0 victory at home last Tuesday that pushed the Lancers up the conference seeding chart, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (5-8 4-2) continue their replay conference matches, as this time they travel to Bridgewater State to take on the Bears. In the last meeting with the Bears back in September, it took overtime action for Worcester to claim the 3-2 victory, but with a bit more season in their step since then, they are aiming for another statement victory.

  • Lancers Find Revenge in SHutout Win Over Owls on Pink Out

    Worcester, MA- After an exciting game on Saturday that saw the Worcester State Field Hockey team (4-8, 3-2) come home with the 6-0 victory over Salem State, the Lancers are back in conference action tonight as they begin their second conference matchups of the season. The Blue and Gold will welcome Westfield State to Coughlin field, earlier this season Worcester dropped a hotly contested battle to the Owls 3-2 in overtime and will aim to come out on top tonight during their Lancer and Rosen Cancer Awareness Pink Out.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (3-8, 2-2) is back in action as they start their end of season campaign for a top spot in the conference. Aiming to push them over the .500 mark in conference action today is an afternoon meeting with the Salem State Vikings, who the Lancers defeated in MASCAC semifinals last year on their way to the Championship.

    Worcester, MA- After an exciting 2-1 week for the Lancer Field Hockey team (3-7, 2-2) the squad looks to continue their winning ways, this time against top regional contender Endicott College. Endicott, similar to the Lancers last year made it to the NCAA first round tournament before bowing out in the early rounds and this matchup is primed to be a good test of regional and postseason endurance for Worcester.

    Worcester, MA- After a stunning 1-0 victory on Thursday over Southern Maine for their second win of the season, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (2-7, 1-2) looks to even their conference record at .500. They head to Framingham State in the first of the rematch battles of last year's conference championships that saw Worcester claim the 2-0 victory.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey (1-6, 1-1) looks to continue their winning ways this afternoon as they take on the Fitchburg State Falcons in a road conference amctch-up. Worcester is coming off two nail biting over time finishes that saw them drop one to Westfield but grab their first conference win of the season last Friday as they bested Bridgewater State 3-2. Today, the Lancers aim to come away with a decisive win, without the use of overtime action.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-6, 0-1) return to Coughlin Field to open up their MASCAC home slate by welcoming the Bridgewater Bears to Worcester, MA. The Lancers, after a tough overtime loss to Westfield State last Saturday to open conference play, are aiming for their first win of the season in the conference to kick off Homecoming/Family Weekend for the Lancers.

    Worcester, MA- The Lancer Field Hockey squad (0-5, 0-0) open up conference play this afternoon as they begin their bid to claim back to back MASCAC Championships. While WOrcester is on the hunt for their first win this season, they have already tested themselves with strong competition in the early part of the season to prepare themselves for a strong conference season that sees each team play each other twice, one home and one away.

    Worcester, MA- After scoring their first goals of the season last Saturday at Springfield College the Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-4) return to Coughlin Field to host the WPI Engineers in their Tuesday night battle of Worcester. The Lancers are primed for their first win of the season after narrowly dropping their contest to Springfield.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-3, 0-0) returns to action after a four day break, this time heading west to Springfield College. The Lancers are on the hunt for their first goal and win this season as they look to avenge their 1-0 loss from last season in what was just their second game of the season.
  • Lancers Fall to Owls in Afternoon Battle

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-2, 0-0) is back home today to square up against former Little East rival Keene State as they aim to dominate the game and bring home the first win of the season. Last season Worcester dropped their game of the season to the Owls 4-2, but look to swap the plan this year in their third game for the first win of the season.
  • Lancers Fall in Comeback Bid to Lyons

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-1,0-0) returned to action Tuesday night for their first regular season away game of the season, when they took on the Wheaton Lyons. Last season Worcester State edged out the 2-1 victory over the Lyons and scored they would look to expand upon under the lights.

    Worcester, MA- The 2023 MASCAC Field Hockey Champions return to action today to host the season home opener for Worcester State as they welcome the Clark University Cougars to Coughlin Field. Both teams are led by second year coaches for their program, with the Lancers looking to continue last season's success and return to the NCAA tournament.
  • Worcester State Field Hockey Picked to Repeat in MASCAC Preseason Poll

    Worcester, MA- In their second season in the MASCAC, and one Championship already claimed, the Worcester State Field Hockey team was again picked first in the preseason coach’s poll. Worcester State won the inaugural field hockey championship, defeating Framingham State 2-0 at home to advance to face Williams in the NCAA tournament.
  • Worcester State Field Hockey Announces 2024 Schedule

    Worcester, MA- Second Year Coach Sophia Monopoli and the 2023 MASCAC Championship Worcester State University Field Hockey team have announced their 2024 slate of games. This season will be the second year the program competes solely in the MASCAC, where they were both regular season and conference champions last year. The team is prepared to defend their conference title after going 13-7, 9-1 last year and advancing to the NCAA Tournament first round versus Williams. The team will be led by captain, MASCAC Second Team selection, senior Madison Avilla and senior, and 2022 LEC Second Team goalkeeper, Madison Ferrara and MASCAC First Team selection, junior Allison Keenan. Joining the dynamic trio will be a talented squad of seasoned champion returners and fresh talent onto Coughlin field.
