MASCAC Names Fall/Winter 2024 MASCAC All-Academic Team
January 30, 2025Westfield, MA — A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann. -
Colonis Repeats on Academic All-District Volleyball Team
January 15, 2025Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball has had a repeat named to the College Sports Communicator Academic 2024 All-District Volleyball Team. Senior Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) was selected by the CSC for this year's team. Colonis repeats with the honor after being selected to last year's team. -
Eight Named to MASCAC Fall Sportsmanship team
December 11, 2024WESTFIELD, Mass. – 60 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Fall Sportsmanship Team. -
Colonis and Crateau Named to MASCAC All Conference Teams
November 20, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team has two selected to this year’s MASCAC All-Conference teams as voted on by the conference coaches. Repeating on the MASCAC First team was senior Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) while new addition first year Katherine Crateau (North Andover, MA) would claim second team recognition. -
Lancers Take Fight to the Owls, Fall in MASCAC Semifinals
November 14, 2024Worcester, MA- After an exciting end to the season that saw Worcester State Volleyball (9-18, 4-3) fall in their regular season finale to MCLA, before claiming the #5/#4 seed victory over them just a few days later, the lancers are now headed back to Westfield to face a common postseason foe. Two seasons ago Worcester fell in the MASCAC Championship to Westfield and earlier this year the Owls claimed a three set victory over the Blue and Gold, two outcomes the Lancers aim to avenge tonight. -
Worcester State Sweeps their way to MASCAC Semifinals, Downing Trailblazers
November 12, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (8-18, 4-3) begins their MASCAC Postseason run this evening as they make the return trip to MCLA. This past Saturday #5 seeded, Worcester dropped a five set battle to #4 seeded MCLA, but looked to avenge their loss this evening, as well as a MASCAC semifinals loss last year to the Trailblazers to see themselves back in the semifinals on Thursday. -
Lancers Fall in Regular Season Finale in Five Set Battle with Trailblazers
November 09, 2024Worcester, MA- In the final match of the 2024 season, the Worcester State Lancers (8-17, 4-2) aim to solidify their third seed in the postseason with a win today at MCLA. Last season the Lancers concluded their season with a win versus MCLA before dropping a semifinal match to them a few days later, which is already a precursor to the importance of today’s match. -

Lancers Fall to Owls in MASCAC Battle
November 01, 2024Worcester, MA- As we get down to the final two weeks of the regular season, the Worcester State Volleyball team (8-15, 4-1) journeys to Westfield State tonight in their rescheduled meeting with the Owls. This game can have pivotal outcomes for postseason seeding, and will lend itself to a high intensity and aggressive game between both squads as each looks for the chance to be one of the top seeds in the conference. -
Blocks Abound as Lancers Come Away with Five Set Victory over Rams on Senior Night
October 30, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (7-15, 3-1) host their final home match of the season when they took on Framingham State for the second time this season. The previous meeting was an out-of-conference affair at the start of the season that saw the Lancers come away with the 3-1 victory. This match, while not only be their conference meeting, will also serve as the teams senior night which will honor #9 Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) and #14 Megan Bardis (Sterling, MA) for their stellar careers with the Lancers. -
Lancers Hold on for Crucial Fifth Set Win over Buccaneers
October 24, 2024Worcester, MA- After nearly a week away from action the Worcester State Volleyball team (6-15, 2-1) is back in conference action tonight as they play host to Mass. Maritime Academy on Brissette Court. The Lancers are looking to work on solidifying their seeding for the post season early in conference action by grabbing another win tonight. -
Lancers Drop Five Set Thriller on Pink Out Day to Bridgewater
October 16, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (6-14, 2-0) looks to continue their conference success tonight as they welcome Bridgewater State for not only their Rosen Cancer Awareness Pink Out Game and Lancer Game, but also their first home conference match of the season. The Lancers are primed to remain undefeated in conference action and add another win to their column in today’s hyped up meeting. -
Lancers Remain Undefeated in Conference Play, Claiming Five Set Thriller over Falcons
October 11, 2024Worcester, MA- After a hard fought match last night, the Worcester State Volleyball team (5-14, 1-0) jumps right back into action tonight as they head to Fitchburg State to take on the Falcons in their second conference game of the season. Colonis, who is now just six digs away from her career 1000th, aims to cross the threshold tonight as she helps to push her team to their second conference victory. -
Lancers are Taken Down by Cougars in Out of Conference Action
October 10, 2024Worcester, MA- After a brief break in action the Worcester State Volleyball team (5-13, 1-0) returns to action in a local road trip to square up with Clark University tonight. The Lancers are not only on a quest to win number six on the season but senior Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) is on the hunt for her career 1000th dig. With the start of tonight’s match Colonis was just nine digs away from breaking the career mark. -
Worcester Takes Double Loss at Trinity Tri
October 05, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (5-11, 1-0), fresh off a conference opening victory over Salem State, return to double day action as they head to Trinity College to face off with Trinity and Nichols. The non-conference action is the first two of three matches that break up the Lancers MASCAC slate and prepare them for a grueling end of season conference schedule. Worcester aims to double sweep the day and add two more wins to their tally. -

September 28, 2024Worcester, MA- In what has become a typical Saturday for the Worcester State Volleyball team (3-10, 0-0) the Lancers will take on two matches to make it a full day of activity. Worcester will begin their day versus SUNY Cobleskill at Western New England before taking on the hosts late rin the day for the double match day. -

Worcester has been tight in every match and is now looking for the elusive win tonight as they take on future conference foe Anna Maria on Brissette Court. -
Lancers Drop Duo Matches in Home Tri-Match
September 21, 2024Worcester, MA- After an exciting early morning start for the Volleyball team (2-8, 0-0) who hosted their 2024 Alumni game prior to today’s double action the Lancer’s looked to shift gear and prepare to face two strong opponents today, in this year’s home tri-match. Worcester is set to square up with Mount Holyoke and Suffolk in a double fun day. -

September 19, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (2-7, 0-0) return to Brissette Court to kick off a four game home match stand tonight as they host the Rhode Island College Anchormen in non-conference action. Graduate student Maeve Cad0gan (Wilmington, MA) looks to surpass the Worcester State total block record tonight as she currently sits tied for first in the record books. -
Worcester Drops Two in Tri-Match Battle
September 14, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (2-5, 0-0) is back in action for third and fourth games of the week as they head to the Coast Guard Academy to take on Coast Guard and Connecticut College in a tri-match Saturday. The Lancers look to return to their winning ways after two hard battles on the week, as graduate student Maeve Cadogan (Wilmington, MA) is still on the hunt to set the new career total blocks record at Worcester State. -
Lancers Fall Short to the Engineers
September 12, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (2-4, 0-0) looks to bounce back from a tough loss at home on Tuesday as they take on the WPI Engineers. The Engineers are assisted by former Lancers standout Camryn Burgio adding an extra level of spice and excitement to the home court match on the night. Graduate Student Mave Cadogan will also be looking for just eight more total blocks to claim the Worcester State Career title in Blocks, a feat she aims to complete today. -
Lancers Battle Corsairs to 3-1 Loss
September 10, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (2-3, 0-0) begins their home match schedule tonight as they host UMass-Dartmouth on a Tuesday night battle. The Lancers are coming off a 1-2 week that saw them play 12 matches in five days in a test of the team's endurance. The Lancers looked to put themselves to the test and start their home season with a win. -
Lancers Fall to Blues in Single Match Afternoon
September 07, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team (2-2, 0-0) looks to continue their winning ways this afternoon with a trip to Wellesley College for a single match Saturday. Worcester has been on a strong start this season claiming two matches while dropping a five setter and four setter, setting the team up to withstand the pressures of a potential back and forth match this season. -

Last season the Lancers came away with both wins over Framingham State in five, so a well seasoned start of going the distance aim to put Worcester in a prime location situation for this evening's match-up. -
Worcester Falls in Five Set Thriller to Regis College
September 03, 2024Worcester, MA- After an exciting 1-1 opening weekend for the Lancers, the Volleyball team returns to assistant Coach Amari King’s old coaching grounds in a battle with Regis College. Last season, the Pride took the Lancers down in three, but this year, Worcester State is ready to serve up the win. -
Colonis Claims Double MASCAC Player of the Week Honors
September 02, 2024Worcester, MA- Kicking off the MASCAC weekly awards this season is senior Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) who was named both Offensive and Defensive Player of the week for the opening week of MASCAC action. The Lancers went 1-1 in their Saturday matches dropping the first match 3-1 to Wentworth before taking Johnson and Wales to five sets for the 3-2 victory. -
Lancers Claim Split on the Day with Five Set Thriller
August 31, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team returns to action today in a double match Saturday at Wentworth. Looking to get the kills early and grab two quick wins to put an exclamation point in the start of the season. The action first began with host Wentworth before the Lancers took on Johnson and Wales to wrap up the early afternoon action. -
Worcester State Volleyball Claims Fourth in Preseason MASCAC Poll
August 23, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team has claimed the 4th spot in the MASCAC Preseason Coaches poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State was 6-1 last season, claiming the second seed in the MASCAC playoffs before falling to MCLA in the semifinals. The Lancers aim to return to the MASCAC Championship after a year hiatus behind the returning leadership of MASCAC Second team’s Maeve Cadogan and First Team Angela Colonis. -
Worcester State Volleyball Announces Addition of King to Coaching Staff
June 26, 2024Worcester, MA- Head Coach Bernie Chase and the Worcester State Volleyball team are pleased to announce the addition of Amari King to this year’s coaching staff. King returns to Worcester State after an illustrious two years with the Lancers that saw her claim two MASCAC Players of the years in 2017 and 2018 and helped to lead Worcester State to back-to-back MASCAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
