Last week, rising senior on the Men's Basketball team, Jack Lasbury-Casey, attended the NCAA’s Career in Sports Forum. Hosted by the NCAA’s leadership development team, the four-day event in Indianapolis brought together over 150 student-athletes. With a Campfires to Careers theme, the forum aimed to help attendees successfully navigate their career journeys after their student-athlete careers.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – 37 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Winter Sportsmanship Team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women’s basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2025. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NABC has announced the 2024-25 NABC Division III All-District Teams and District Coaches of the Year. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division III.
Westfield, Mass. — Westfield State’s Kenneth Rogers Jr. and Worcester State’s Brandon Goris are the 2024-25 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year while the Owls’ Eric Johnson is Defensive Player of the Year and headline the All-Conference team which is voted on by the seven coaches around the conference.
Worcester, MA- After a repeat win over MCLA on Tuesday night the #3 seed, Worcester State Lancers (13-13, 9-3) will now journey to the #2 Salem State Vikings (11-14, 8-4), who were awarded the first round by, in a battle to return to their fifth straight MASCAC Championship appearance and claim their third straight conference championship.
Worcester, MA- In an exciting end to the regular season, the Worcester State’s Men’s Basketball (12-13, 9-3) held on to the third seed in the MASCAC postseason after a comeback victory over the MCLA Trailblazers (6-18, 4-8). The two teams met just this past Saturday in the pivotal game that placed the Lancers as the three seed in the tournament while the Trailblazers advanced as the sixth seed. MCLA jumped out to an early lead on Saturday before Worcester State pushed through late in the second half for the 74-69 victory. With the meeting tonight, each team is looking to claim the needed momentum to advance in the MASCAC tournament.
Worcester, MA- With final seeding on the line and a senior day to celebrate, the final game of the Men’s Basketball season (11-13, 8-3) versus MCLA was lined up to be an exciting meeting. A victory in the day’s game would leave just a Salem State loss, to claim the second seed with the Lancers inching past with the tiebreak needed, in the MASCAC tournament that starts next Tuesday. A loss and Salem State win over Westfield would see the Lancers fall to a potential fifth seed scenario that would lead final seeding out of Worcester’s hands.

With a win tonight the Lancers would secure a top two finish and first round bye in the MASCAC tournament that starts next week.

Worcester, MA- After a thrilling second half point surge on Wednesday versus Bridgewater State, the Worcester State Men’s Basketball team (10-12, 7-2) heads Salem State looking to grab a late season win and work to solidify their top two seeding finish for the postseason. With Salem one of the Lancers two conference losses so far this season, a win over the Vikings would help Worcester State grab the first round bye in the MASCAC Tournament that starts in just over a week.
Worcester, MA- Looking to grab a more solid position on one of the top spots in the postseason, the Worcester State Men’s Basketball team (9-12,6-2) is looking to make it five straight tonight as they look to complete the regular season sweep of the Bridgewater State Bears (9-13, 4-5). This will be the second meeting and full rematch of the 2024 MASCAC Championship meeting teams this season, and Worcester is prepared to set themselves up as a top contender in the conference tournament. Today’s game is also played in conjunction with the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, which aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late stage cancer and increase longevity.
Worcester, MA- After a thrilling third straight victory, the Worcester State Men’s Basketball team (8-12, 5-2) is back on their home court to host conference foe Westfield State (17-4, 7-1) for their second meeting of the season. Their first game of the season would find the Owls claim the 85-76 victory which the Lancers look to avenge this afternoon.
Worcester, MA- After over a week off from games the Worcester State Men’s Basketball team (7-12, 4-2) looks to extend their win streak to three as they take on Fitchburg State for the second time this season, this time the Falcons home court. In their first meeting the Lancers took home the 83-69 victory and aim to do the same in tonight’s meeting.
Westfield, MA — A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers (6-12, 3-2) are back in action after an intense Saturday that saw them claim victory over Framingham State. Worcester State journey’s west to MCLA (3-14, 1-4) as they continue their conference schedule in a bid to grab a top seed in the postseason set to begin in just a month. After a slight delay due to a patch of weather on the journey, Worcester State would arrive in North Adams ready for the challenge.
