Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Cross-Country team was back in action this Saturday afternoon as they headed to UMass-Dartmouth to compete in the UMass-Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational Meet. In a field of over 342 and 44 teams, ranging from DI-DIII, the Lancers were primed to race.
Sophomore Jacksen Bolduc (Auburn, MA) would grab the top finish for Worcester in the 8k race with a time of 29:50.40. Junior Alexander Lucier (Gardner, MA) would finish second, just a few steps behind in a time of 30:16.23, just sprinting to the cross ahead of senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA), who would come across in a time of 30:25.02. Sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) would run with the Lancer's men pack with a fourth placed finish in a time of 30:45.14 while first year Dan Smith (Medway, MA) would be the last scored runner for Worcester to cross at 30:53.56 finding each of the initial five Worcester runners crossing within a minute of each other, showing their depth and talent on the course. Sophomore Alex Matsuyasu (Newton, MA) would be close on the heels of the first five with a time of 31:09.90 with Andrew Stokes crossing in 32:13.93.
Worcester returns to action on October 12th as they head to James Earley Invitational as they begin the last stretch of prepping for the MASCAC Championships on November 2nd.
