Mahoney Leads Lancers Return to Action at James Earley Invitational

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Cross Country team returned to action today as they traveled to Westfield to compete in the James Earley Invitational. With a combined team score of 360, the Lancers finished in 13th in the meet, with sophomore Kelan Mahoney (Oakham, MA) leading the squad.

 

Mahoney crossed in 80th with a time of 29:39.71 to lead the pack of runners for the Lancers followed by just second by senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA) in 87th with a time of 29:55.56. Sophomore Jacksen Bolduc (Auburn, MA) was even closer on the heels crossing in 90th in a time of 30:04.97. Junior Alexander Lucier (Gardber, MA) would claim the fourth spot for 106th overall in a time of 30:59.86, followed just ten seconds later by first year Dan Smith (Medway, MA) who finished three spots behind in the pack in a time of 31:09.04. Finishing in 120th and 123rd were juniors Alex Matsuyasu (Newton, MA) and Andrew Stokes (Wilmington, MA) in 31:31.10 and 31:50.98. Closing out the helm for the Lancers was first year Ryan Brown (Salem, MA), who finished in 151st in a time of 34:05.81. 

 

Worcester will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Western New England to compete in the Western New England Invitational.
