
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Cross-Country team has been picked to finish fifth in the 2024 MASCAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll as selected by the conference coaches. The Lancers, who are under their second year with full time head coach Scott Vandermolen aim to return to the top of the podium this season behind senior Matt Talbot and sophomore Jackson Bolduc and a strong incoming and returning class from last season.
Grabbing the top spot in the poll was Bridgewater State with four first place votes and a total of 24 points. Westfield came in in the second spot with two first place votes and 22 points followed closely by Fitchburg State with 16 points. Framingham State claimed the fourth spot with 11 points, just a single point ahead of Worcester State at 10. Mass. Maritime would round out the poll in sixth with seven points.
The Men’s Cross-Country team kicks off their season on Saturday, August 31st, when they travel to Keene State to being their prep for the MASCAC Championships on November 2nd.
