Lancers Drop Outfield Battle to Vikings
April 26, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (8-21, 7-8) returned to conference action on Friday as they hosted the Salem State Vikings (15-13, 8-7) in their second to last conference series of the regular season. The Lancers are looking to get back into winning form after dropping a tough battle with Salve Regina on Saturday. -
Lancers Downed by Nationally Ranked Foe Seahawks
April 24, 2024Worcester, MA- After a thrilling sweep yesterday over conference foes Fitchburg State, the Lancer Baseball team (8-20, 7-8) returned to action this afternoon to take on nationally ranked Salve Regina in a mid week, out-of-conference, battle. While attempting to rest themselves up for the remainder of the conference regular season, Worcester State looked to test themselves against some tough competition.

Hernandez Slams Falcons in Sweep for Series Victory
April 23, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (6-20, 5-8) jumps right back into action this afternoon as they complete their series versus the Fitchburg State Falcons (10-20, 5-8). The Falcons grabbed the opening win on Patriot’s Day but the Lancers looked to take the series in their double game battle on a sunny afternoon at Kevin D. Lyons Diamond.

April 22, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team claimed their second MASCAC weekly honor this week as senior Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) was selected as the conference’s pitcher of the week.

April 21, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (5-19, 4-7) returned to action after a shift of a day down at Bridgewater State, in a bid to claim the series after dropping game one of the three game set on Friday afternoon.

Lancers Drop First of Series to Bears
April 19, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (5-18, 4-6) would aim to crack their six game losing streak and come out victorious versus the visiting Bridgewater State Bears (13-12, 6-5). Worcester would return to conference play today after a brief stint away down at UMass-Boston on Wednesday broke apart their conference row of games as a result of the ever changing weekend weather of New England.

Worcester has lost their last five games and are looking to get back on the winning track before returning to conference play this weekend and hope to use the Beacons as their launching pad into the stretch. Lancers Fall to Rams in Late Inning Slug Match
April 16, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (5-16, 4-5) returned back to Kevin D. Lyons Diamond to take on the Framingham State Rams (7-12, 5-3) in the final game of the regular season three game series. This game was initially scheduled for last Friday, but thanks to the typical end of week rain this season the games and locations were flipped around. This game would again see the Lancers host the game but being playing as the away team on the field.

April 15, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (5-15, 4-4) returned tight back to action today for another conference battle as they headed to Fitchburg State to take on the Falcons (6-20, 1-8) in a battle to keep the Lancers above a conference .500.

Lancers Late Heroics Fall Short Versus Rams
April 14, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (5-13, 4-2) was finally able to return to the field Sunday afternoon after another late week storm passed through and caused another shift in the schedule. Worcester would travel to Framingham State (4-1, 2-2) for a double header that was initially scheduled at home but was moved and pushed back a day for the Rams to host the double header as Worcester again would play away as the home team.

April 09, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (4-12, 3-2) returned to action at home today as they hosted Westfield State (15-6, 4-1) in the last of their series. This game was initially supposed to be played last Friday at Westfield, but as a result of the week’s storm the game was moved to today, with Worcester State as the hosts but Westfield up to bat last in the 9-inning match.

Lancers Take the Split with Owls in MASCAC Battle
April 07, 2024Worcester, MA- after another rain and snow filled week to start the spring season, the Worcester State Baseball team (3-11,2-1) was set to take on their second conference opponent. In a set of games initially scheduled to be at Worcester State yesterday, the Lancers instead traveled to Westfield State (14-5,3-0) for the double header. While the game was now at Westfield, the Blue and Gold would still be serving as the home team on the field, batting at the bottom of the innings.

Lancers Claim Series with MCLA in Ninth Inning Comeback
April 02, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball (2-11, 1-1) looks to clinch the series versus MCLA (4-11, 1-1) this afternoon as they journey to North Adams, MA to take on the oft rescheduled Trailblazers nine-inning game before the weather moves in. While the Lancers dropped their first game versus MCLA yesterday, they rebounded in a major fashion in game two coming away with the 22-2 win in a game that had to be called on account of darkness at Kevin D. Lyons Stadium. Worcester will look to continue their run spree today and nab their second win in conference.

Lancers Split with MCLA in Opening Conference Action
April 01, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (1-10, 0-0) opens up their conference play today as they welcome the MCLA Trailblazers (3-10, 0-0) in a rescheduled rematch. After the rain of the past week forced a move of the three game set, the Lancers began their season with a 7-inning double header with MCLA and a single nine inning game is to be rescheduled to a later date this season.

March 27, 2024Worcester, MA- Due to the expected weather over the end of the week the Worcester State Softball and Baseball games scheduled for this Thursday and Friday have been rescheduled. Thursday’s single header game, initially scheduled for Thursday, March 28th, has been moved to Monday, April 1st, at 3pm. The baseball and softball double headers initially scheduled for Friday, March 29th, have been rescheduled to Saturday, March 29th, for 12 and 2pm at Worcester State.

March 26, 2024Worcester, MA - The Saint Joseph Blue Jays (6-7-1, 1-0) hosted the Worcester State Lancers (1-9,0-0) in their fifteenth game of the new season. In a tough matchup, the Lancers look to end their five game losing streak as the Blue Jays hope to continue their hot streak, winning four of their last five games. Worcester is returning to New England action after a week in Florida for Spring Break action.

March 23, 2024Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team (1-8, 0-0) faced SUNY-Purchase (5-6, 0-0) on their last day and SUNY’s first in Florida, a mirror situation to the Lancers first day when they squared up with Roger Williams on their last day in Florida. Worcester would look to brush off the late inning loss to Amherst yesterday and carry a second win out of Florida.

Facing strong competition in FLorida has prepared the Lancers for some strenuous games and aim to put their battle hardened skills to the test in their double header with the Blue Jays.

Lancers Baseball Announce 2024 Schedule
December 13, 2023Worcester, MA- Second season Head Coach, Phil Price, is pleased to announce the 2024 Worcester State Baseball teams regular season schedule. The Lancers are looking to return to MASCAC postseason action after qualifying for play in Price’s first season. The Blue and Gold will have a depth of incoming talent to go along with their experienced veteran returners headed up by senior captain Ben Smith (Bourne, MA), the 2022 NCAA Statistical ERA leader, junior captain Tyler Smith (Leominster, MA) and senior captain Tom Halliwell (Leominster, MA).
