Worcester, MA- For the second straight week the Worcester State Baseball team would grab the MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor as first year Ryan Jewett (Natick, MA) would again, bring home the honor.
Jewett batted .385 (5-13) with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 1-4 week for the Lancers. Had a hit and walk in the 5-3 win over Westfield State. Went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two stolen bases in the 14-3 setback to Coast Guard.
Receiving additional weekly honors for the Lancers was senior Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) who threw six innings with six hits, two earned runs and nine strikeouts in the Lancers’ 7-1 setback to Framingham State.
Baseball is back in action today at 2pm when they journey to Fitchburg State for a single game meeting at 2pm.
