How it Happened:

In this critical conference matchup the Buccaneers would strike first at the top of the first to put the pressure on the Lancers. Mass. Maritime would play great defense for the first few innings making it hard for the Lancers to generate any offense. Things would change starting at the bottom of the thirdas  junior Emma Lapoint (Westfield, MA) would nail a double RBI bringing in senior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA). From here on out senior pitcher Sarah Gosselin (Charlton, MA) would keep the Buccaneers at bay not allowing another run. At the bottom of the fourth sophomore Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) would hit a double good for two RBIs bringing in two more runs for the Lancers. To start the bottom of the fifth inning we would see one more run tacked on for the Lancers stemming from junior Bella Gasbarro (Leominster, MA) hitting a triple. At the bottom of the sixth we would see the scoring open up for the Lancers. The Buccaneers would find themselves in trouble as the bases would become loaded with only one out on the board. Lapoint would hit a single RBI putting the score to 5-1. Junior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) would bat next and would see four balls allowing an easy walk home. Senior Abigail Koziel would get hit by the pitch which would move her up to first and send another run home. Amanda Adamuska would call the game for the Lancers with a triple bringing home Keefe and Lapoint finalizing the score at 10-1 for the Lancers win.

In the second game action of the night for the Lancers, after stretching their win streak to 12 Worcester would jump right back into the action. Lanpher would find her way early onto base with a single to third with Koziol sending her home with a driller up the middle. Gasbarro would do the honors for Keefe who found herself on base after a single to left field to carry a 2-0 lead into the second.

The next at bat for Worcester would be a big earner as junior Carissa Andrew's (Medford, MA) would start off the base action with a single to second. Brouillard would find the gap in left field to put two runners on. A steal from Andres would put her in a key scoring position as Lanpher would grab two RBis on her hunto for 100 with a single to left field. Gasbarro would later single herself to left field to bring in Lanpher. Lapoint would manage to score off a wild pitch and a run home before Adamuska would take another ball deep to left field for two to come across for an 8-0 lead.

Things would remain stalled until the bottom of the fourth where Andrew's would hit a baby blooper to get herself to first and Gasbarro in for run nine. Lanpher would finally record her 100th RBI with a two RBI double to score Geloso and Adamuska. The final run of the inning would come off a Lapoint grounder to short that would bring Andrews around all the bags.

The top of the fifth just needed three outs to wrap up the game early for Worcester which was accomplished with quick work for the 12-0 victory.
