Following Worcester's 10 point lead, the Lancers didn't let the Bears within less than six for the remainder of the half. Worcester went on an 8-0 run with about five minutes remaining, and then closed in the half with a 14 point lead.

Shakir came back with a 3-point shot, though, a technical foul on the Lancers gave the Bears their first lead of the game at 11:34 when Romanko aced a pair of free throws and Wiederkehr made a layup to adjust the score at 52-51 in favor of the Bears.

Bridgewater State saw their largest lead of nine with 6:18 remaining when DeAndrade drained a three.  Worcester State attempted to close the gap as they went on an 11-3 run to get within one with 2:20 left on the clock.

With 1:34 to go, Mass made a jumper to mark the score 69-66. Each team had three additional possessions throughout the remainder of the game, but neither were able to put the ball in the basket to either seal the deal or tie the game up to pull the game into overtime.

Worcester State shot an overall 40.0% from the field, while the Bears shot 40.9%. Neither team had a great turnover in free throw shooting, as Bridgewater registered a 60 percentage, and the Lancers came in with 55.6.
