Five Named to MASCAC Spring Sportsmanship Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Five Worcester State University spring student-athletes have received Sportsmanship Team recognition from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The MASCAC Sportsmanship Team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team in every sport that best demonstrates the values of the MASCAC and its Sportsmanship Statement, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.

Representing the Worcester State baseball team was senior Cooper Bigelow (Leominster, Mass.), while Ally Tocman (Shrewsbury, Mass.) earned the honor for the softball team.

For the men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams, sophomore Wayne Carey (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and senior Elisabeth Olson (Wilmington, Mass.) received recognition.

Rounding out the awards was junior Chloe O’Brien (Sturbridge, Mass.), who represented Worcester State women’s lacrosse on the MASCAC Sportsmanship Team.
