Five Lancers Named to MASCAC Winter Sportsmanship Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Five Worcester State University winter student-athletes have received Sportsmanship Team recognition from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The MASCAC Sportsmanship Team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team in every sport that best demonstrates the values of the MASCAC and its Sportsmanship Statement, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.

Representing the Worcester State men’s basketball team was junior Erik Bjorn (Holden, Mass.), while Colleen Cutting (Auburn, Mass.) earned the honor for the women’s basketball team.

For the men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams, seniors Eddy Acuna (Newton, Mass.) and Brenda Thomas (Worcester, Mass.) received recognition.

Rounding out the awards was senior Nick Patullo (Doylestown, Pa.), who represented Worcester State men’s ice hockey on the MASCAC Sportsmanship Team.
