WESTFIELD, Mass. - A total of 176 Worcester State University student-athletes earned recognition on Thursday afternoon when the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released its Fall/Winter 2020 All-Academic Team.

Student-athletes who compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the MASCAC institutions during the course of the Fall and Winter 2020 athletic season and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Fall/Winter All-Academic Team.

Each of Worcester State’s 15 eligible fall and winter teams was represented on the All-Academic Team. Conference-wide, 1,239 student-athletes received the honor.

"I speak for the entire athletics office when I say we are all so proud of the 176 Worcester State student-athletes who earned MASCAC Academic All-Conference honors," said Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. "We are saddened that we were not able to see them compete this fall, but we are incredibly proud that they persevered through a very challenging semester and didn't lose sight of the importance of their academics."

"Congratulations to the 1,238 student-athletes who were named to the 2020 MASCAC Fall/Winter All-Academic team,” MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann said. “This has been a tremendously challenging time for our student-athletes. I am so proud that they not only persevered and continued their academic success in the classroom but the team increased over the number from last year’s team.”
