Worcester State Athletics Announces New Spectator Policy

WORCESTER, Mass. -- With rising COVID-19 numbers throughout the region and state, the Worcester State Athletics Department has announced a new policy for its home sponsored athletic contests, effective immediately.

Attendance will be limited to up to two family members of players on each of the teams competing in that particular contest.  Both teams participating will be required to provide a guest pass list prior to the game so that these guidelines can be met.

Mask wearing will be mandatory for all spectators in attendance at athletic events.

“We need to take the health and safety concerns of individuals into consideration under the current state of affairs in our region of the state by reducing the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for the student-athletes and all in attendance at our home games,” said Director of Athletics Mike Mudd. “This temporary change to our spectator policy will allow our student-athletes to continue to compete in intercollegiate contests, while still having the experience of performing before a limited number of supporters.”

This policy will be effective immediately and is in place indefinitely. The athletic department will continue to evaluate and make decisions with the health and safety of the Worcester State community remaining the top priority.

No admission fees will be charged while this policy is in effect.
