Directions to Moore State Park Paxton, MA (Cross Country)
1 Sawmill Road (Route 31), Paxton, MA 01612
From Worcester:
- Take 290 West to Exit # 18 or Rte 290 East to Exit #17.
- Follow Rte 9 West to set of lights at Park Ave.
- Go straight through lights(don’t follow Rte 9 anymore) following the Worcester airport signs to junction with Rte 122 North in Tatnuck Square.
- Continue straight up the hill on Rte 122N to Paxton Center.
- Take a left onto Rte 31 South.
- Park will be 1 ¼ mile on your right.
From Southwest:
- Take MASS PIKE East (Rte. I-90E) to exit # 9 in Sturbridge.
- Follow Rte 20 East to Rte. 49 North.
- Take a left onto Rte. 49 N to STOP at Rte 9 in Spencer.
- Take a right onto Rte 9 East to first set of lights.
- Turn left onto Meadow Rd and follow to STOP sign.
- Take a left onto Rte 31 North and follow for 7 miles into Paxton.
- Park entrance will be on your left.
From Northwest:
- Take Rte 2 east, to exit #22 in Gardner.
- Take Route 68 South for 10 miles through Hubbardston and into Rutland.
- Turn right onto Rte 56 South.
- Follow 56S for 4 miles to STOP sign in Rutland center.
- Turn left, then take a quick right, staying on Rte 56S.
- Follow Rte 56 S into Paxton Center.
- Bear right onto Rte 31 south, thru the light in the center of Paxton.
- Park will be 1 ¼ mile on your right.
From The East/Boston/Southeast:

Take MASS PIKE West(Rte. I-90W) to Exit #10 in Auburn.
- Take Rte 20 West to Rte 56 North.
- Turn right onto Rte 56N through Leicester center(you’ll cross Rte 9 here).
- Follow Rte 56N to STOP at Rte 122 in Paxton.
- Take a left onto Rte 122 North and follow to Paxton Center.
- Take a left onto Rte 31 South.
- Park will be 1 ¼ mile on your right.
From Northeast:
- Take Rte 2 West, to Rte 190 South towards Worcester.
- Follow Rte 190S to exit #5.
- Take a right onto Rte 140 North to first traffic light.
- At light take a left onto Legg Rd.
- Follow Legg Rd to STOP.
- Take a right onto Manning St towards Holden to STOP.
- At STOP take a left onto Rte 31 South and follow through Holden center into Paxton. Stay on Rte 31S through the center of Paxton. Park will be 1¼ mile on the right.
