Gezotis Honored As MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State sophomore Nick Gezotis (Westfield, MA) has been tabbed this week's MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week for helping lead the Lancers to an unbeaten 4-0 record and a pair of wins over MCLA.

Gezotis batted .462 (6-for-13) with a pair of doubles, three steals and five RBIs which included three hits and three runs batted in 6-0 triumph over the Trailblazers while he also added a trio of hits and a two runs in a 10-8 10-inning victory over Brandeis.

Gezotis is currently hitting at a .329 clip (27-for-82) with nine doubles, 15 runs scored and 15 RBIs. In addition to being fourth on the team in average, Gezotis is tied for fourth in the MASCAC in doubles as he is tied for sixth with five stolen bags in six attempts.

Gezotis also has handled a squad-best 63 assists in the field and has helped out on 10 of the squads 20 double plays.

The Lancers, in a four-way tie for second-place, will continue MASCAC play against Framingham State later this afternoon at 1 PM.
