Gerry Montiverdi
Title: Volunteer Assistant

Gerry Montiverdi enters his second season as a volunteer assistant coach to the baseball team. Coach Montiverdi will primarily help out the catchers and pitchers.

Coach Montiverdi has coached at practically every level of baseball play as he begins his first stint at the collegiate level. For the past four seasons, Coach Montiverdi was an assistant for the Central Mass team that participated in the Bay State games involving several top high school players from the region.

Coach Montiverdi was a member of the 1983 Worcester State baseball team that was the first to capture a bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. The Lancers, who won MASCAC the regular season championship, were handed a 11-10 defeat in the first round to eventual World Series champion Eastern Connecticut.

Coach Montiverdi is a native of Worcester who played baseball at North High as he was a captain in his senior year. Montiverdi earned his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and he is currently employed by the City of Worcester as a detective.
