Narcisse Earns ECAC Division III Defensive Player of the Week Laurels

Danbury, CT --- Senior Bryan Narcisse (Medway, MA) has been selected Corvais ECAC Division III New England Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts in a victory against Westfield State this past weekend.

The accolade for Narcisse marks the second time this season that the standout defensive lineman has been recognized by the ECAC as the top regional defensive performer.

Narcisse racked up 11 tackles (six solo) to go with 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss of 14 yards in a 35-22 win over Westfield State. His interception at the line of scrimmage helped the Lancers go up by 13 late in the third quarter.

Through nine games on the season, Narcisse has taken over the lead in the MASCAC in sacks (11.5) and tackles for a loss as he has 18 for 83 yards. Among NCAA Division III leaders, he is tied for third nationally in sacks per game (1.28) and he shares a four-way tie for 13th in TFL per contest (2.0).

He paces a pass rush unit that is fourth in the nation with 29 takeaways (13 fumble recoveries and 14 interceptions) and ninth in tackles for a loss per game (9.7) as the squad has permitted the sixth fewest third down conversion rate in Division III (.247 percent).

Narcisse was also named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week, earning his second on the campaign. His last ECAC New England weekly honor came on September 15 for his standout performance against WPI.

Worcester State (7-2, 5-2 MASCAC) head to Framingham State for their regular season finale on Saturday at 12 PM as the Lancers try to vie for a spot in the postseason.
