Worcester, MA --- Megan Rosborough (Uxbridge, MA) scored on a wild scramble with 4:15 remaining in the second overtime to give visiting Worcester State a dramatic 2-1 victory over WPI in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday evening.  With the result, both teams see their records even at 3-3.

Rosborough's heroics capped a wildly entertaining 20 minutes of extra play that saw the two teams combine for 11 shots and six penalty corners.

The Lancers got on the board first as Angela Johnson (Ashby, MA) found reserve Kaitlynn Delisle (Taunton, MA), who blasted her third goal of the season at 16:08.  WPI answered back early in the second half when Nicole Maglione (Charlton, MA) drove home a feed from Meghan Linskey (Bridgewater, MA) for her second goal on the season and 22nd of her standout career.

Worcester State goalkeeper Erin MacDonald (Dedham, MA) recorded five saves en route to picking up her third win in six decisions.  WPI netminder Betsy Ray (Simsbury, CT) stopped eight shots, including a blocker stop on a Lancer penalty stroke midway through the second half.

WPI is off until Wednesday when they close out a three-game home stand with a 4pm contest against Becker.   Worcester State will return to action on Saturday at 11am when they travel to Fitchburg State for a Little East Conference and Sterling Cup affair.
