Erin MacDonald Selected Little East Goalkeeper of the Week

 Worcester, MA --- Senior net minder Erin MacDonald has been named the Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after she aided Worcester State in two double-overtime victories by stopping 20 of the 21 shots she faced this past week.

MacDonald, who hails from Dedham, MA, notched five saves in a 2-1 win over city-rival WPI last Thursday and then made 15 stops for the Lancer's first LEC conference victory of the season against Fitchburg State in a 1-0 triumph. Her mark against the Falcons was the second highest save total she has put up this season. On the week, MacDonald sported a 0.41 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.

MacDonald ranks among the top five goalkeepers in several categories. She is tied for first in the LEC in save percentage (.889), second in goals against average (0.92), third in total saves (56) and fifth in saves per game (8). MacDonald also has three shutouts in WSC's seven games this season.

Worcester State (4-3, 1-1 LEC) will continue its season with an 11 AM conference matchup with Framingham State on Saturday.
