Kim Cosenza Tabbed a NFHCA Division III All-Star

Worcester, MA --- Senior defender Kim Cosenza (Fitchburg, MA) has been named a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) all-star and will play in the senior all-star game at the end of the month at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA on Sunday, November 23.

"I am extremely honored and humbled by this recognition," said Cosenza. "I am speechless and have a hard time putting into words how excited I am about this opportunity."

Cosenza said that she couldnt have earned this distinction without a little help from her teamates.

"I share this award with my coaches, teamates, or as I would like to call them, my 23 sisters, because in reality they are the ones that deserved recognition," said Cosenza.

Cosenza and Alyssa Rowell, a defender at Keene State, were the two players selected by the NFHCA committee from the Little East Conference while eight of the 38 total selections were from the New England region.

Cosenza's is currently tied for second in the conference in defensive saves (7) with Fitchburg State's Saralyn Byler, while Rowell leads the conference with 12 this season. Cosenza, a sweeper, brings nine career goals and four assists with her to the all-star game.

"I am sure that it will be an experience I will never forget," said Cosenza.
