Lancers Rally for 4-2 Win at Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Hope Makey (Clinton, Mass.) and Molly Cutting (Auburn, Mass.) each scored twice as the Worcester State field hockey team twice came from a goal down to earn a 4-2 victory over Plymouth State in Little East Conference (LEC) action on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field.

Senior Natalie Perry (Conway, N.H.) scored twice and sophomore Kayla Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) made seven saves for the Panthers, who were honoring their seniors before the game.

The Panthers opened the scoring on Perry's first goal of the game on a penalty stroke, but five minutes later the Lancers evened the score off a penalty corner delivered by Carly Duff (Warren, Mass.) and finished by Makey, and the game went into halftime tied at one.

Sophomore Taylor Healey (Campton, N.H.) carried the ball near the Worcester State goal and found Perry alone in front, who deposited her second goal of the afternoon to give PSU a 2-1 lead, but the Lancers came back to tie it five minutes later on Makey's second goal of the day and fifth of the year. The assist came from Karalyn Jones (Wilbraham, Mass.).

Worcester tacked on a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, both by Cutting, who also has five goals this year. Duff had another assist on Cutting's first goal of the game.
