Jones Named Offensive Player of the Week

Worcester, MA- Senior forward Karalyn Jones has been named the final regular season offensive player of the week in the Lancers last season as members of the LEC Conference. This is the first honor for Jones this season.

Jones was an integral member of the team as they went 2-0 on the week, which saw Jones score 2 goals and secure 5 assists on the week for 9 points on the week. She scored her first goal and two assists in a 3-1 win over Bridgewater St last Tuesday, following it up with another one goal and three assists in the teams 6-1 victory at UMass-Dartmouth. The final two victories secured a tie with Southern Maine for co-regular season champions and the number two seed in the LEC Championship Tournament.

Jones currently has nine goals, 11 assists for 29 points for the 2022 regular season campaign. Her 11 assists have her currently tied for sixth in the field hockey record books for assists in a season. Over her career, Jones has scored 18 goals, notched 17 assists for 53 points in her career. She currently sits in 9th for career total assists.

The Lancers are back in action on Tuesday at 4pm, when they host Westfield St. in the quarterfinal round of the LEC Championships.
