Brooks Earns All-MASCAC Men's Basketball Second-Team Accolades

Westfield, MA --- Sophomore Paul Brooks (Arlington, MA) has been named to the All-MASCAC Second-team in a vote by the leagues head coaches earlier this week as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.

Brooks comes off a strong second-year campaign after he received the nod last year as the MASCAC Rookie of the Year. In 26 games he averaged 12.2 points per game, 9.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks to go with a conference-best .579 field goal percentage.

Among league leaders entering the MASCAC semifinal round, Brooks was ranked second in field goals made (146), total rebounds (256) and average boards (9.8) while he also was eighth in scoring.

Before the conference tournament started, Brooks was ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III in average blocks and total rejections as he set the single-season record previously held by Ted Mulvagh (2002-03). His boards per contest are also tenth in New England tied for 27th nationally.

Brooks leaped into second on the programs list with 129 blocks and entering next year he has a mark of 40 to surpass Tony Price (1986-90).

His field goal percentage is the second-highest clip in a single campaign, among those who have at least 200 shot attempts, and he ended the year with 11 double-doubles.

Under the guidance of 21st year head coach Dave Lindberg, the Lancers (6-20) ended the campaign making their tenth consecutive MASCAC tournament appearance, falling in the league quarterfinals.
