Rubenskas Named MASCAC Top Rookie for Second Straight Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. – For the second week in a row, Worcester State forward Ryan Rubenskas (Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's basketball Rookie of the Week.

Rubenskas averaged 14.7 points in three games this week for Worcester State, shooting 52.5% from the floor, along with 8.7 rebounds, two assists, 1.3 steals and two blocks in a 2-1 week for the Lancers. Had 19 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks in the first game of the week against Salem State, and then had another 19 points as the Lancers knocked off the Vikings four days later

Over the course of the season, the sophomore is averaging 11.5 points per game, one of four Lancers who are scoring in double figures per contest. He is shooting 51.9% from the field and has scored in double figures in ten games this season. He is also grabbing 7.2 rebounds per game and dishing out more than an assist and a half.

Rubenskas and the Lancers will be back on their home court on Saturday, February 5th when they host Bridgewater State in the back end of a MASCAC men's and women's basketball doubleheader.
