Lancers Drop Tight Battle With Ephs to Open Weekend Tournament Action

Worcester, MA-Coming off a loss in their previous game vs Plymouth State, Worcester State took to the road for another non-conference matchup, this time the opponent being Williams College at the Purple and Gold Tournament.

Williams was off to a quick start in the first half led by sophomore Alex Lee (Houston,TX) and junior Brandon Roughley ( Dalton,Mass) in which Williams enjoyed a 8 point lead for the most part of the first half until a 4-0 run cut the score to 32-28 at halftime. Junior Aaron Nkrumah (Worcester,Mass) led the Lancers with 9 points in the first half as they battled against a top Ephs program.



The second half had a similar feel to the first half as Williams would increase the lead and Worcester State would bounce back to cut into the lead but could not quite get ahead. Nkrumah finished the game with 17 points and senior Ryan Rubenskas (Bridgewater, Mass) added 15 points on the night.

 

Worcester State falls to 1-3,0-0 and will play again tomorrow at 1pm, against an opponent to be determined.
