Worcester State Places 17th out of 42 at New England Intercollegiates

Brewster, MA --- Sophomore Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) finished the New England Golf Intercollegiate Championship with a two round score of (+8) to help lead the men's golf team to a 17th place finish out of the 42 teams at the 74th Annual New England Intercollegiates. The squad fired a score of 64 over par the course of the two day event.

Among the Division III schools in attendance, the Lancers placed 6th out of 22 teams. Locally, Nichols finished fourth overall and edged out Worcester State for the best spot in the region, followed by Holy Cross and Assumption, who finished 20th and 21th, respectively.

Bruso tied for 15th while shooting a 77 on the first day and 75 on the second at the Captains 72 par golf course.

Senior Nick Lombardi (N. Grafton, MA) tied for 30th at +12 while junior Jon Jackson (Deerfield, MA) took 87th at +19. Junior classmates Dave Urella (Worcester, MA) and Mike Levroni (Arlington, MA) finished 131st (+25) and 188 (+37), respectively to round out the scorers for Worcester State.

This meet wraps up the season for the men's golf team.
