Men's Golf Ties For Fifth At Rhode Island College Fall Invitational

Providence, RI --- Senior Chris Brunelle (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) fired a team-best 81 (+9) to tie for 11th while classmate Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) tied for 13th as he added an 82 (+10) to help Worcester State to equal Johnson & Wales's score fifth place on the par 72 Triggs Memorial Golf Course.

The Lancers shot a 332, just 20 strokes off of UMass Dartmouth's total, who won the team title. WSU was also six away from Anna Maria who took fourth and seven off Nichols' total of 325. The medalist was Nick Jagoe (Westport, MA) of the Corsairs.

Sophomore Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA/St. Peter-Marian) tied for 18th with an 84 (+12) while senior Mike Horan (Billerica, MA) tallied 22nd, just one stroke behind with an 85 (+13). Fourth-year TJ Magnell (Leominster, MA) rounded out the group with an 88 (+16) as he tied for 29th.

Worcester State continues their run of tournaments this weekend as they head to Westfield State tomorrow at Tekoa Country Club.
