Men's Golf Places Third Overall At Nichols Fall Bison Invitational

Worcester, MA --- Junior Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA/St. Peter-Marian) and sophomore Zach Mahan (Leicester, MA) each handed in cards of 80 (+8) to tie for ninth and help lead the Worcester State men's golf team to a third place finish out of seven teams at the Nichols Fall Bison Invitational at the par 72 Greenhill Golf Course.

As a team the Lancers (327) were only 16 strokes off of team champion Endicott (311). Third place is the highest standing for WSU in any competition thus far this season.

Second-year James Letourneau (Seekonk, MA) equalled 16th (83; +11) as junior Joe Belanger (Holden, MA) was one stroke behind in a tie for 18th (84; +12). Senior Jim Sarkisian (Auburn, MA) rounded out the group with an 88 (+16) in 27th place.

Worcester State will compete again next week at the three-day 77th Annual NEIGA Tournament at Captains Golf Course.
