Brewster, MA --- Junior Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA/St. Peter-Marian) carded an 82 (+10) to tie for 92nd in a field of 168 competitors to help lead the men's golf team to finish in 34th place at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships after the first round.

The squad played the opening round on the par 72 Port side at Captains Golf Course. The Lancers shot 350 strokes as a team (+62).

Third-year Joe Belanger (Holden, MA) tied for 122nd with an 85 (+13) as sophomore James Letourneau (Seekonk, MA) tied for 152nd (89; +17).

Senior Jim Sarkisian (Auburn, MA) and second-year Zach Mahan (Leicester, MA) both equalled 162nd (94, +22).

The Blue and Gold wrap up their fall season when they play the second round tomorrow morning.
