Ross Leads Men's Golf At GNACs, Named To All-Sportsmanship Team

 

Sutton, MA --- Junior Jeremy Ross (Holden, MA) carded an 83 on the second day to finish with a two-day total of 172 in 28th place to help lead Worcester State to eighth place out of nine teams at the GNAC Championships at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Course this past weekend.

Rhode Island College took home the hardware with a two-day score of 639 to earn the conferences automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship the week of May 14-17 in Destin, FL.

Southern Maine senior Josh Hogan (Falmouth, ME) also earned individual medalist honors with a score of 154 (+10) to help lead the runner-up Huskies.

The Lancers, who shot a team score of 725, were also paced by sophomore David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) who shot a 180 to tie for 33rd while freshman Connor Guerin (Oxford, MA) placed 38th (186). 

Right behind was first-year Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) who added 39th (187) and classmate Zach Poirier (Sturbridge, MA) placed 40th with a score of 198.

For his leadership displayed throughout the weekend, Ross earned a nod to the All-GNAC Sportsmanship as selected by the leagues head coaches.

Worcester State finishes of their season next weekend at the two-day NEIGA Championships at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA.
