Men's Golf Settles For 11th Place At RIC Spring Invitational

 

Providence, RI --- Freshman Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) and sophomore David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) both fired scores of 85 (+13) and 86 (+14), respectively, as they helped lead the Worcester State men's golf team finish in 11th overall on the final day of the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational held at the Par 72 Triggs Memorial Golf Course.

Paced by junior Rob Donahue (Canton, MA) of Middlebury, who captured medalist honors, the Panthers won the team title with a cumulative score of 620 strokes. With their tally of 701, the Lancers were just 37 strokes off of the top five.

Senior Joe Belanger (Holden, MA) was the top finisher as he tied for 26th (169) while Davis equalled 33rd (171) and Rixham tied for 39th (173).

Freshman Brendan Dugan (Sutton, MA) knotted for 62nd and classmate Zach Poirier (Sturbridge, MA) placed 66th to round out the Blue and Gold (197).

With another week of practice, Worcester State will compete again next week at the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth at Allendale.
