Men’s Golf Tops Conference With Seven On MASCAC Fall All-Academic Team

Westfield, MA --- Senior Bryan Dunham (Tolland, CT), along with sophomore classmates Anthony Bement (Attleboro, MA), sophomore Steven Ferraro (Leicester, MA) and Brett Tetreault (Webster, MA) led the conference with seven men's golf selections on the MASCAC Fall All-Academic Team as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.

All four were recognized with certificates for the second time in their careers as seven of the 10 members of the men's golf team were distinguished with MASCAC All-Academic accolades.

Other's who earned the prestigious honor for the first time were junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA), sophomore Patrick Sharron (Bolyston, MA) and freshman Quinn Indio (Acushnet, MA).

To earn a spot on the MASCAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester based grade point average during their semester of competition.

The team also boasted a 3.26 grade point average during the Fall semester to top nine Worcester State men's varsity athletic programs.

Piloted by fourth-year head coach Mark Gurski the Lancers finished off a solid fall campaign with a seventh place finish at the GNAC championships and a tied for 13th in Division III at the NEIGA Championships this past October.

Among institutions in the MASCAC, Worcester State had 99 overall selections on the league fall academic honor roll for the third highest total in the conference. The total number of WSU student-athletes also marked the highest since the league began listing its all-academic honor roll on a season-by-season basis during the 2009-10 academic year.
