Men’s Golf Places 5th at the Elms College Invitational; Jezierski Places 4th Individually

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The men's golf team placed 5th out of 20 teams at the Elms College Invitational on Sunday on the par-70 Elmcrest Country Club course.

 

The Lancers came through with a team total of 618 strokes (310-308), just two above the 4th place Babson College.

 

Sophomore Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) came in 4th out of the 100 golfers, carding a 148 (74-74) in the two rounds of play. Jezierski was just two strokes above the winner of the tournament who carded a 146. He was at the top on par 4 scoring, averaging 4.17 strokes and recorded six birdies in the two rounds of play.

 

Juniors Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) and Patrick Sharron (Boylston, Mass.) also were in the top 20, as they both tied for 18th place with a 155. Ferraro improved tremendously from his first round score of an 81, and came back with a 74 on the second day, tallying up four birdies in the two rounds of play. Sharron scored a 77 in the first round and a 78 in the second round, averaging 3.13 strokes on par 3 scoring.

 

Senior Jackson Davis (Spencer, Mass.) totaled 160 (78-82) strokes, while junior Brett Tetreault (Webster, Mass.) carded a 185 (91-94).

 

The Lancers will be back on the course this Wednesday as they will compete in the Westfield State Tournament at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Mass.
