Men’s Golf Completes Round One of GNAC Fall Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Worcester State University men's golf team opened up play at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Fall Championships at the 18-hole, par-72 the Allendale Country Club course Saturday afternoon.

 

The Worcester State Lancers finished the first round of play with a team score of 319 (+31) for second place out of the nine total teams in the GNAC. Four of Worcester State's golfers are currently placed in the top 20.

 

 Junior Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) is currently tied at first place overall with seven other competitors from the schools of UMass Dartmouth, Rhode Island College, Albertus Magnus College, and Johnson & Whales (RI). Ferraro carded a 78 on the 18 holes played today.

 

Sophomore Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) is currently tied in eighth place with two other competitors as he totaled 79 strokes on the par-72 golf course.

 

Also in the top 20, is senior Jackson Davis (Spencer, Mass.) who carded an 80 on the first round of play, along with junior Patrick Sharron (Boylston, Mass.) who marked an 82 on today's round.

 

Sophomore Quinn Indio (Acushnet, Mass.) is currently tied at 35th place with a score of 91.

 

Tomorrow the Lancers will finish up with the second round of play, from where a GNAC Champion team will be named.
