Jezierski Wins Rhode Island College Men’s Spring Invitational; Team Places Second

WARWICK, R.I. – Worcester State's sophomore Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) won the Rhode Island College Men's Spring Invitational at the Valley Country Club with a 75, carding a 39 on the front nine, and improving with a 36 on the back. He registered three birdies in the 18 holes played on Friday (Apr. 1).

 

Right behind him was, senior Jackson Davis (Spencer, Mass.) who marked a 76 (39-37) tying for a second place finish with Roger Williams' Joshua Unkrich (Bristol, Conn.). Davis was even on par-4 scoring, and was two under overall in par-5 scoring.

 

Overall, the Lancers placed second out of 16 teams in the tournament, and just two strokes behind the host, Rhode Island College.

 

Worcester State's junior duo of Patrick Sharron (Boylston, Mass.) and Steven Ferraro (Leicester, Mass.) tied at 41st place, both carding an 83 on the one round played on Friday at the 6,458 yard, par-72 golf course.

 

Sophomore Luke Robare (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) rounded up the strokes for the Lancers with 88 (44-44) on the round.

 

Next weekend (Apr. 8-9), Worcester State travels to UMass for the UMass Invitational, held at the Allendale Country Club.
