Jezierski Tabbed Player of the Year after Claiming Individual Title at GNAC Championships

GORHAM, Maine – Worcester State University's junior golfer, Mike Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) individual champion on Sunday (Oct. 16) afternoon at GNAC Championships hosted by Southern Maine at the Gorham Country Club.

"Mike has been playing well all season and this week was just a continuation of that play," commented assistant coach Zach Camarra. "He played very solid the first day to get into contention and then came out and made a few more putts and stayed committed throughout the round to become the conference champion."

On the first day of play, Jezierski carded a 74 to take the 4th place spot. He then came back in day two and marked 72 strokes for the individual win with a total of 146 (+4) strokes on the par-71 course. With the win, he claimed medalist honors and GNAC Player of the Year honors.

"Myself, coach Gurski, and the team are extremely proud of him," added Camarra.

The team placed 4th out of nine schools competing, as St. Joseph's (Me.) captured the team title. Tied at second place were Rhode Island College and the host, the University of Southern Maine.
