SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Three members of the Worcester State University men's golf team shot 13-over 85s to lead the Lancers on day one of the Blazers Invitational Saturday at Ledges Golf Club.
Junior Zack Grenon (Uxbridge, Mass.), sophomore Mark Clemente (Holden, Mass.), and freshman Brodie Coughlin (North Brookfield, Mass.) all carded 85s for the Lancers on the day. Freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) recorded an 89 for the Lancers, while senior Owen Gibbons (Sterling, Mass.) recorded a 100 to round out the Worcester State scorers.
Husson University, combining to shoot a team score of 299, holds a one shot lead headed into the second round. Ryan Zogby of Western New England shot a 2-under 70 to carry the individual lead into Sunday's round two.
The teams will tee off again on Sunday from Ledges Golf Club, with tee times set for 1 p.m.
