Springfield, MA --- Junior forward Mark Rintel (Queens, NY) had two goals and an assist, and junior goalie Andrew Evans (Cromwell, CT) compiled 33 saves, to lead the Worcester State men's hockey team to a 5-2 victory over Western New England College in a non-league game Tuesday night at Smead Arena.

The Lancers, who defeated the Golden Bears 7-6 in their previous meeting back on November 25, raised their record to 5-11-3.

Western New England College jumped to an early 1-0 when freshman center Kory Grahl (San Diego, CA) scored just 1:11 into the contest with assists from senior forwards Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) and Phil Lamy (Manchester, NH).

Rintel tied the game with an unassisted short-handed goal at the 3:29 mark.

The Golden Bears (2-18-1) went ahead for the final time on a goal by Lamy with assists from Grahl and Majesty 5:40 into the period.

Worcester State took control in the middle period tying the game on a power play goal by junior center Andrew Brady (Philadelphia, PA) at 14:23 and then going ahead 56 seconds later on a goal by freshman center John Cahalane (Tewksbury, MA).

Freshman left wing Cody Warila (Shirley, MA) tallied the Lancers' second short-handed goal at 6:48 of the final period before Rintel added the final goal at 15:57.

Cahalane and Warila each finished with a goal and assist. Evans stopped 11 shots in the opening period and added 12 in the third period.

Western New England College junior goalie Dennis Harrsch (Morrisonville, NY) stopped 23 shots.
