1ST PERIOD

UMass Dartmouth found the first goal of the game in the 14th minute when Brendan McDonough (Wilmington, Mass.) received the puck from Kenny Tencza (Naples, Fla.) and Nicholas Short (Los Angeles, Calif.) for the lead. Worcester State's Jake Karelas (Melrose, Mass.) knotted the score at 1-1 in the 18th minute on touches from Mike Moran (Milford, Mass.) and Mitchell Purdie (Peterborough, Ont.). However, the Corsairs were able to slip one more goal past Worcester's Josh Reinstein (Woodland Hills, Calif.) with just a minute to go in the first period to head into the second with the Corsairs on top 2-1.

2ND PERIOD

After a scoreless first 15 minutes of play in the second, UMass Dartmouth added to their lead with a Casey Shea (Woburn, Mass.) goal in the 16th minute. Worcester State got back within one a minute and a half later on a goal from Mike Palmer (Grafton, Mass.), but a power play opportunity turned into a goal for the hosts as Jonathan Ruiz (Williamstown, N.J.) capitalized with a Worcester man down and scored a power play goal in the 19th minute. With two seconds to go on the clock in the second, Moran placed the puck past Drew Michals (Newton, Mass.) for the 4-3 score, Corsairs ahead.

3RD PERIOD

Moran tallied his second goal of the game just 2:28 into the third period to knot the score at 4-4. Another goal wasn't scored until the 9th minute (Nichols) in favor of the Corsairs. In order to stay in the game, Worcester State needed to kill off a Corsair power play and add another goal; Ryan James (Katy, Texas) did just that with five minutes to go. The score remained at 5-5 throughout the last five minutes of the third, resulting in the overtime period.
