Roth Represents Lancers on All-MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior defenseman Max Roth (Chicago, Illinois) has been selected as a member of the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Ice Hockey team, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Roth earned one of two defenseman spots on the First Team, voted on by coaches from across the conference.

One of the alternate captains for this year's Lancer squad, which earned the #3 seed in the MASCAC tournament, Roth was the top scoring defenseman and one of the most consistent and dependable members of the lineup. He was one of just four players to feature in at least 25 games and was tied for second on the team with 7 goals. He also had 9 assists to give him 16 points, third on the squad.

Roth accounted for a pair of game-winning goals, including the overtime winner less than a minute into the extra period against Assumption to cap a comeback that saw Worcester State score three times in the final two and a half minutes of regulation. Roth had a goal and two assists in a 6-3 win against UMass Dartmouth and a goal and an assist in a 6-4 victory at Westfield State.

The senior defenseman ends his career having played in 70 games for the Lancers with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 career points.
