WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State's sophomore Bryan Brasil (Williamsburg, Mass.) collected four goals in the Lancers' 8-0 shutout over the visiting Johnson State Badgers Wednesday (Sep. 14) afternoon at Coughlin Stadium.

With the win, the Lancers up their record to 2-1, while the Badgers drop to 1-5.

The Lancers tallied 40 shots throughout the entirety of the game, giving no rest to the Badgers who only marked four total shots on the afternoon.

Brasil kick-started the Lancers' scoring in the 13th minute when he registered two back-to-back goals within seconds of each other. The first goal was assisted by freshman Matthew Stabell (Acushnet, Mass.), while his second came from a speedy breakaway from the left side and finished with an outside curve to back of the net.

Worcester State put up one more before the half as George Siotis (Oxford, Mass.) passed ahead to Etjon Rapi (Worcester, Mass.) who placed the ball in the mesh for the 3-0 gain.

The second half was not much different than the first – with the Lancers in control of play. Worcester State placed five more goals in the opponents net as Brasil notched two, and Rapi, Zach Rodas (Douglas, Mass.), and Siotis claimed the others. The goals were assisted by Rapi, Stabell, Siotis, Rodas, and Josh Pimentel (Hudson, Mass.).

On the visiting end, Johnson State's four shots came from Dominic Caforia (Waterbury, Vt.) and Patrick Miller (Webster, N.Y.) who each had two apiece.

The Blue and Gold's Henri Guilmette (Franklin, Mass.) earned his first collegiate win on home turf in a three-save performance. Johnson State's goalie, Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) suffered the loss in a nine save performance.

Worcester State resumes play on Saturday (Sep. 17) when they entertain Mass. Maritime in their conference opener at 5:00 p.m. The Badgers' next game is on the same date as they host conference opponent, Thomas, in a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
