Guilmette Named MASCAC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman goalkeeper, Henri Guilmette (Franklin, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's soccer Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

 

Guilmette registered his first collegiate shutout with three saves in the Lancers' 8-0 win over Johnson State College last Wednesday (Sep. 14).

 

"He made a couple key saves early in the game for us," stated head coach Jason Willis.

 

Guilmette currently holds a .714 save percentage and averages 1.21 goals against in 149 total minutes played.

 

"Henri will be a big part of the team in the next four years," concluded Willis.

 

The men's soccer team's upcoming schedule includes an away game at Elms College on Wednesday (Sep. 21) and then the team hosts their second MASCAC game of the year on Saturday (Sep. 24) as they entertain Framingham State in a 12:00 noon game.
