1ST HALF

Just three minutes into the half Becker midfielder, Leemar Baptista (Brockton, Mass.) sparked fire under the Hawks as he hustled his way to earn a breakaway that was deflected off the foot of freshmen goalkeeper Abdul Frederick (Shrewsbury, Mass.).  Worcester State's Brasil took charge during the 17th minute to tally the first goal of the game. He shot the ball from the left side, and placed the ball perfectly on the low right side, where the ball bounced off the post into the net for the 1-0 lead.  After Brasil's goal, the Lancers settled in as they took the majority of possession for the rest of the half. Although Worcester was controlling the half, shots on goal against Becker was only 3-to-2. After 45 minutes the score was 1-0 in favor of the Lancers.

2ND HALF

The Hawks came in with a chip on their shoulder early on in the second half as freshmen forward Colby Koch (Norfolk, Mass.) bulldozed his way through Lancer defensemen to get a shot off, only to be saved by Frederick. For the remainder of the half, the Lancers kept the ball in Hawk territory. Brasil had his second goal of the night in the 51st minute off a cross from senior Andre Ipojuca (Saugus, Mass.). Shortly after, at minute 53, the Lancers sealed the game with a goal headed in by senior defender Mathew Dent (Ludlow, Mass.), assisted all the way from midfield off a free kick by freshmen defender Vincent DeMattia (Hampden, Mass.). Keeping the Hawks alive, at the 81st minute, freshmen Devin Ramos (Warwick, R.I.) assisted a late goal scored by Koch.
