Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Framingham State, 3-0

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Worcester State University men's soccer team shutout Framingham State University 3-0 in a Saturday evening Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) matchup.

1ST HALF

The Lancers got on the board in the 15th minute when Bryan Basil (Williamsburg, Mass.) scored off a pass from Andre Ipojuca (Saugus, Mass.). About 15 minutes later Ipojuca scored a goal of his own when he gathered the second hop off a long punt from Lancers keeper Jason Barrett (Spencer, Mass.) to take a 2-0 advantage into the break.

 

2ND HALF

The Lancers added to their lead in the 71st minute when Kwame Ofori's  (Webster, Mass.) shot hit the cross bar and bounced right to Matthew Dent (Ludlow, Mass.) who sent it home.

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) started in net for the Rams turning away three shots in the first half. Barrett made seven saves in the shutout for the Lancers.
  • The Lancers outshot the Rams 20-to-15.
  • The Rams had the advantage in corner kicks 4-to-3.

  

UP NEXT

Men's soccer hits the road again next week as they travel to MIT on Wednesday (Oct. 25) and wrap up the regular season at Mass. Maritime on Saturday (Oct. 27).
