Men's Soccer Ties Up Mitchell College in Double OT

WORCESTER, Mass.- The Worcester State University men's soccer team ended their double overtime battle in a draw against Mitchell College, 1-1, on Wednesday night at John F. Coughlin Memorial Field.

With the tie the Lancers move to 0-1-1 on the season while the Mariners move to 0-2-1.

The Lancer's continued to fight but could not find the net until Matt Alzamora (Holden, Mass.) came up big with his first goal of the season.

Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, both teams were unable to score during either overtime period. The Lancers had 15 shots on net throughout the match while Mitchell was held to 10.

Mitchell's goalkeeper Dylan Kinsella (Waterbury, Conn.) ended the night with four saves. Lancer goalkeeper Andy Ramirez (Waltham, Mass.) came up with a pair of crucial saves in the overtime periods on his way to three on the night.

The Lancers return to action Saturday with a game at Eastern Connecticut State. Kickoff is slated for 1pm.
