Men's Soccer Ties for Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll

2021 MASCAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's soccer team has been chosen to finish in a tie for fourth place as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released its Preseason Poll on Thursday afternoon.

Salem State University finished atop the poll, garnering 47 points and five of a possible eight first place votes. In a tie for second were Bridgewater State University and Framingham State University with 41 points each. The Bears received two first place votes, while the Rams received one.

Worcester State was knotted up with Westfield State for fourth, each receiving 25 points, while Fitchburg State and Mass. Maritime tied for sixth with 16 points each. MCLA rounded out the poll with 13 points.

The Lancers will kick off their season on September 1 with a matchup against cross-town rival WPI. Kickoff from Coughlin Field is slated for 4:00 p.m.
